Back to Finish and Protect

Easy to apply, WATCO Lacquer dries to the touch in 30 minutes and leaves no brush marks. The finish applies evenly accross the wood to provide a smooth surface and long-lasting protection against surface scratches. WATCO Lacquer fills in the pores of most wood types eliminating the need for wood filler.

Recommended for use on interior furniture, cabinets, doors and paneling. It's best when used on stained or bare wood surfaces and is not recommended for use on floors or exterior surfaces.

Preparation
For best adhesion, surfaces must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease, oil, shellac, mildew, stearates and polishes. Remove wax with a wax stripper, shellac with a paint stripper, and mildew with a solution of 10 percent household bleach and tap water. Old finishes in poor condition must be removed. Sand to obtain a smooth surface and remove all sanding dust.

If you're applying lacquer over already stained surfaces, make sure to wait at least 72 hours or according to manufacturer's recommended dry time, whichever is greater, before applying finish.

Test
Test WATCO Clear Lacquer in an inconspicuous area before beginning. Testing is particularly important when applying over paints or stains as an undesired appearance may occur when these products are topcoated with a finish.
