| Q: The paint I applied appears to be very smooth and even in color, but the surface of the area appears to start bubbling up within a couple of minutes of spraying. It almost looks like the surface in many areas has lifted from the surface and created a spider web effect.
A: That sounds like substrate contamination. It’s critical that the wood be clean, free of wax, oil or grease, well sanded, and that the appropriate primer is used before painting. It’s also important that the primer is dry before you spray over it, as an unstable or even incompatible sub coat can also cause what you described.
