| Q: I purchased two rocking chairs from a restaurant about two years ago and they have constant mildew. I have cleaned them numerous times with no success. They are on the front porch and get plenty of air circulation and sunlight. What can I paint them with to stop this problem?
A: First you must kill the mildew that is on them now. You can do that either with a commercial product, like Jomax mold and mildew stain remover, or with laundry bleach. Once you have the pieces clean, dry and free of mildew, sand them and coat them with an exterior primer and exterior paint that contains mildewcide. Once they are painted it should rid you of your mildew problem.
